Amoy Hotel Singapore by Far East Hospitality
Amoy Hotel Singapore enjoys an enviable location as it straddles the Central Business District (CBD) and Chinatown of Singapore. To top it off, the Telok Ayer MRT train station is just a few steps from the hotel.
From here it’s easy to walk into the city, or head up to Ann Siang Hill to explore the bars and restaurants there. With the advantage of having the train station right outside, it’s very handy for connections to shopping and attractions.
Amoy Hotel has cleverly incorporated the history of Singapore into the design, and it’s an extremely attractive place to stay from the double height lobby to the little touches that make the guestrooms inviting and relaxing spaces to be in.
The hotel attracts a mix of business and holiday guests, thanks in part to its locality. The hotel is slightly out of the way of main traffic routes, so is fairly quiet. There’s desk space, great WiFi internet connection in both the single and double guestrooms if work is required.
Rates for the Amoy Hotel start at US$160 per night.

AMOY brought a personal touch to my stay in Singapore, set in a wonderfully historic part of the city. Attentive staff, generous complimentary inclusions and a ’boutique’ feel. Very close to public transport (Telok Ayer Station) and just a short walk to Raffles Place. Orchard Rd is just a 10-15 minute MRT trip away.
Excellent, attentive, genuinely helpful staff! Rooms are decorated beautifully. Some others have commented that this hotel offers what is virtually a ‘6-star’ service – I could not disagree with this sentiment!

Bringing together heritage, business and entertainment, the hotel has a handy location, whatever your reasons for visiting Singapore.
You can leisurely walk to the Central Business District (Raffles Place), cultural district of Chinatown and Thian Hock Kheng Temple; the oldest temple in Singapore. Or you can hop on the MRT train and head to Orchard Road or Little India.
- Less than 1-minute walk to Telok Ayer MRT (DT18) train station
- Around 5-minutes walk to Raffles Place
- 7-minutes walk to Chinatown heritage shophouses
- 5-minutes walk to Ann Siang Hill and Club Street for the hippest bars and restaurants in town
Why Stay at Amoy Hotel Singapore
There’s nowhere quite like it in terms of design – it has cleverly managed to capture the beauty of Singapore and the arrival of the Chinese who settled here in both the public spaces and the rooms.
The location means guests can walk to most of the large offices in the CBD, stone-throw distance from the MRT station and in the evenings can walk to Ann Siang Hill – a fabulous enclave with bars, independent restaurants and a jovial atmosphere.
The rooms are charming, a blend of modern and old-world, with fantastic amenities and clever use of the cozy space. A tasty breakfast is served every morning and the staff here are excellently trained, they really do go above and beyond to make sure guests are guaranteed to return.
Room Rates and Hotel Amenities
Although located in the Central Business District, the hotel has recreated the feeling of old Singapore, when Chinese ships were arriving along the river and settling on the island.
At the entrance to hotel is an enchanting, original temple (Fu Tak Chi) and the bright and airy reception brings history and modernity together.
The cozy rooms reflect Chinese culture as well, with bare brick or timber clad walls and the delicate patterns that appear on pottery making an appearance in the en-suite bathroom. Despite hints of the past the space is thoroughly modern thanks to comfortable beds with soft sheets and all the essential conveniences.
